Many who rely on food pantries and soup kitchens struggle to eat a balanced diet, because fresh produce is expensive and difficult to store. As a result, many food pantries and soup kitchens require regular donations of fresh produce.
Every month the Niles Township Food Pantry serves 5,500 people, and our sack lunch team serves 60 guests. Both are always in need of fresh produce. Because of this, St. Timothy's Lutheran Church is partnering with Cradles, Cribs, and Crayons Early Childhood Center in Skokie to raise vegetables for distribution through the food pantry and sack lunch team.
