We are a small, caring congregation with a passion for feeding the hungry in body and spirit.

Who We Are

St. Timothy's Lutheran Church

Established: 1951

Pastor: Daniel Morris

Skokie, IL 60076

Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty." John 6:35

We know God as God in mission for the life of the world. Through baptism into Christ's death we walk with him in newness of life. We are formed for mission by God's Word, our deepest hunger is satisfied at Christ's table, and we are sent into our community to share what we have received from God's own hand. Our mission is grounded in Jesus' promise that whoever comes to him will never be hungry and whoever trusts in him will never be thirsty.

Our Congregation

God in Mission

We are a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
We exist in partnership with other ELCA congregations across the nation. Our common witness to Jesus Christ is rooted in God's grace through Christ for the world. For more information, click here.

We are Biblical.
The Bible bears God's Word, who is Christ, to our world. We encounter Christ through the stories and the witness contained in Scripture. The Bible is authoritative for us, and Christ helps us engage the Bible with its many perspectives and complexities.

We are confessional.
Our witness is grounded in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments; the Apostle's, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds; and the Lutheran confessional writings in the Book of Concord.

We are publicly engaged.
Our civic engagement grows out of God's love and grace for the world in Jesus Christ. Our national church body publishes social statements to assist congregations in thinking about and discussing a wide variety of social issues.
